A PDC is a Planetary Defence Centre, which is a ground base and assumed to be under a mountain, which is why you get the armour bonus. Getting them into orbit can be tricky :)

One could try slamming another planet into the planet upon which they're based. :)

Is it possible to scap PDC? It is rather expensive and time consuming to refit them, so it migth just be easier to scrap some of the older ones. (I have quite a lot, since I belived I was able to move them to other planets)

It had 200 anti-ship missiles.   *shrug* I don't have the game now, though, trying another start.

[EDIT] Worked this time, not sure what was different - if anything.

Ammo doesn't count, just launchers, by the way.

Defense value scales off the weapons systems.    The only reason it wouldn't have defense value is a lack of weapons.

You can pair an orbital weapon platform(any ship with no engine, or with a small one, built at a shipyard) with a PDC Hangar to launch and store it that way.

.  .  .   Er, right, .  .  .   I thought it was "Prefabricated Defence Complex" or something.

Aha! I think it's doing crap all because I haven't manufactured any missiles.

[EDIT] Hmm. .  still not there.

It has missiles, and a commander, but the defense value for my planet is still given as zero.  :/

So, I designed, built and assembled a OWP (wait, should I have built, launched, assembled?)

Either way it's just sitting unmanned somewhere. . .  I think.

What should I be doing?  ;D
