The game won't start
« on: February 21, 2024, 02:08:10 PM »
Can you help me please? When I start the game, the download starts, after which nothing happens to me, after searching the forum on the topic “Installing C# aurora” I did a lot of what was said there, but it didn’t help, I’ll say in advance that I don’t have an antivirus and “Windows Defender” I have it disabled, I downloaded the finished assembly from this site.  I tried putting the root folder in "Games" but it didn't help, I have Windows 10.  Is there any solution to this problem? ???

Hello A simple chair - please register your account so that you can post normally and we don't have to manually approve each post you make.

Modern browsers can be really finicky about downloading Aurora from this forum due to safety measures. So let me run you through couple of things!
Make sure that you are actually downloading the proper files:
First, the Aurora C# base: http://aurora2.pentarch.org/index.php?topic=10635.0
Second, the 2.5.0 patch: http://aurora2.pentarch.org/index.php?topic=13418.0
Third, the 2.5.1 patch: http://aurora2.pentarch.org/index.php?topic=13462.0

You probably need to confirm with your browser to make sure it actually downloads these files instead of just blocking the download as 'suspicious'. How to do that depends on which browser you have. In the end, this is what it should look like:

Note the file sizes! If your file sizes do not match, something went wrong with the download!

Next, get 7-Zip from https://www.7-zip.org/download.html <-- you probably want the top-most option to download, the one that says "64-bit Windows x64". This program is free and completely safe, it will allow you to handle pretty much every type of archive/compressed folder/package. Once it is installed, you can unpack each folder in the same order as you downloaded them. I would recommend putting them up somewhere like C:\Games\Aurora - once it is all done, you should have a folder looking like this:

Ignore the Eventcolours.csv - you won't have that file and won't need it. At this point you can run Aurora.exe or better yet, make a shortcut to it on your Desktop, and Aurora should run though depending on your Windows security settings, you might be asked to give permission to run the application.

Post here if you have any further issues!
