lifepods give you espionage points to make espionage rolls

In my first game I started to try and take ships by boarding specifically to see if I could get more intelligence from them. I'm not sure if you get a chance to interrogate the crew like when you pick up lifepods. But I think that would also be reasonable.

Might be worth suggesting over in the relevant thread. Seems like a weird oversight.

Well... not a lot of people use boarding in this game. So it probably just never occurred to Steve to put it in. Course the intelligence screen could outright use an overhaul.

Yes noticed that as well, would make sense you get intel on the class design.

By design, as you would need to disassemble the components in order to reverse engineer them to get technical data from them.   If you scrap the vessels I believe you would get some data, but I could be wrong.  You might have to scrap the vessel, then disassemble the ship components you receive after scrapping it.

Adam.

I meant tech data on the alien intel screen.  It'd be nice to get all class design data for that alien class after capturing a vessel

This is the order you do it in.

I realized/remembered after a few years of playing, that you can board vessels in this game.  I tried it after a new neutral alien race jumped to Sol system.  I promptly launched two marine companies to board the vessel and captured it without a problem.  I repeated this process a few times whenever they came for a visit.  After capturing these vessels, the alien race still remained neutral and relations were improving.  I also noticed that you don't get tech data of the ships after capturing them.  Is this by design or an oversight?
