We thank the other space powers for a successful joint operation. Coordinating an international task force on short notice is never an easy task. Our condolences to the NAU (and possibly the EU?) for their losses.

EU announces that the last pirate ships have been eliminated.   They will pick up survivors and allow all to question the terrorists.

They also ask if anyone has a tugboat.

(welp, bugger, that means the Red Duncanites probably come from the gringos, don't they)

Aleksis Klimov: I can only speak for my own country, but the terrorists have no public support in Russia.

The NAU will contribute two energy armed frigates which are currently in earth orbit. The rest of our navy has been recalled to earth, but is unfortunaly currently on missions to far away to arrive in time.

With as I see only beam armed vessels we need to coordinate our fleets well for an effective strike.
I would also suggest to send them an offer for negotiations, if only as a sign for the public that we see problems with ruthless space colonization and take down any public support these terrorists have.

The FSA will be bringing sensor ships to the inbound ships.  once lock on has been achieved by our craft, ground based missile systems will engage.

Our patrol craft will engage if they continue to approach.   Lifeboat are on standby.

We are aware at least one class is armed with Plasma Cannons.

The EU will be bringing their gunboats to engage the ships at distance.     They are requesting other powers engage at distance, as they are unsure if the ships have missiles, and if so, our shipyards may be at risk.

If anyone has intel on the capabilities of the inbound ships, now is the time to share.

By our estimates, the pirate vessels will arrive at Earth in about 2 hours. At this stage we are able to commit a couple sensor fighters to provide active sensor lock and targeting solutions, as well as a wing of 5 beam fighters to escort the task force.

NAU is currently internally discussing the situation and will soon give a statment here.

Do we have any communication going with the ships?

FSA - We have only confirmed that they are terrorist vessels by a quick transmission.   We have not made any other discussion with the ships.

EU - The EU is activating its gunboats for fleet action, due to the rotation all EU assets are inside Luna orbit.

Before we decide on any course of action, do we have positive confirmation that the approaching ships are indeed Red Duncaites?
If it comes to it, the Confederation Navy is prepared to commit our fighters to the mutual defense of Earth.

Russian ambassadors are onsite, but are awaiting the conclusion of internal discussions before making any public statements. In the meantime, we are open to suggestions as to how we might deal with this situation.

FSA military council is still discussing the issue - however we do see two major course of actions.

Send out our fleets to engage the terrorists at a distance, which will cause more damage to our fleets, but put earth and our shipyards at less risk.
Allow them to close in till we can obtain a lock on with our active sensors, at which point our land based missile systems could launch.

We are more inclined with the first one, and launch longer range earth defense systems as soon as our fleet sensor systems can detect them.   However we would much prefer that our fleet be joined by others so we are not forced to take the full load of earth defense.

Edit: as a side note, we may need to boost our diplomatic status within Aurora to allied so that we can use eachother's active sensor locks.
