Moving terraforming instalations
« on: June 07, 2008, 02:15:55 PM »
Can it be done?

If so, how many cargo holds do you need?

So far, I haven't been able to find a way of moving them.

I'm going no on this one. That's why there are Terraforming ship modules.

No, there is no way to move them. I might add something in the future based on a similar method to research facilities.

That would be nice - at present I never build them, since
They're usually VERY expensive for a new colony
They're a "lost" investment after the planet is terraformed - they have zero value on a cost zero planet.

A thought: Do you want to introduce "maintenance" terraforming?  The idea is that a planet's climate wants to relax to its original state, so that you would need terraforming installations to fight the decay away from cost zero.  The relaxation rate would presumably go up with the "distance" of the climate from its original state.

Maybe a way to scrap installations. Build them and scrap them for a percentage of the mineral cost.

That's a good idea. I'll add it to the list :)
