Estimated Combat Strength
« on: January 15, 2013, 02:03:42 PM »
A quick question. Did not found it anywhere on the forum. What means estimated combat strength? For instance i have active sensor contact with some enemy ground units with combat strength of 180.
If it's stupid but it works, it isn't stupid.

If fire fighters fight fire and crime fighters fight crime, what do freedom fighters fight?

I mean how can i deduce the number of enemy batallions present on that planet. Is that the attack/defense rating added up together?

I, too, would like to know the answer to this question.

I belive, and I stress the "believe" part, that Aurora assignes a combat strength of 10 to every enemy battalion, i.e. a combat strength 180 means, there are about 18 battalions on the ground.

It does _not_ tell you anything about the true combat power of those battalions.

Thanks for the answer. However I began bombarding the planet with missiles and railguns(atmospheric pressure was only 0.08) and counted up 12 destroyed enemy ground units. Maybe Steve can clarify what that number means.

If there were 12 combat units there and a score of 180, that could imply that their strength was 15 (12*15=180). I don't know if the calculation takes into account the level of Ground Strength researched by the faction.

Yes, that makes sense. The enemy troops were precursors.
