Currently writing year 1-10, I feel like doing this style again. The space between updates might be a bit large, but I'll write them in events, and post it as it comes along in the same thread.

By the way, it was a pain finding a nice system to start off (And I accidentally had it named "Human". Oh well.)

Was I really gone that long >.>

Finals came up, wasn't really a good time to start a new campaign anyways. Then my old computer's motherboard fused, and i've just gotten back to Aurora now. Summer break, so I'll dust off Aurora (Finally update it) and try out a new campaign (For real this time!)

Edit: Introduction and starting stats are posted. OOC spoilers as to my playstyle, for those who want them:

This game is going to be very fast paced. The Egyptians, or anyone on the ship, are very, very new to interstellar travel, and all the technology they have was "found" on an unknown ship. These two coupled together make them a very curious, reckless and inexperienced empire as to the existence of aliums, even though it is likely to them that they exist. Let's see how they hold up with their first encounter with a NPR (Please don't start with a 30 system large warmongering alium empire who think that human flesh is delicious and want to eat us all.

I have decided to pick up Aurora again. Thinking of doing a Egyptian campaign, once I get the fine grain stuff finished up, i'll post the opening to it. I think it's going to be a fairly combat based empire, and i'm going to try a few different strategies than i've done before to keep it interesting, while not letting the entire empire get wiped out in a blazing atomic fire.

Length is one of the hardest things for a writer to gauge.  I know for sure it's one of my main issues with my work, and even more so if writing less AAR-based fiction.  Generally it IS just a good idea to stop when it "feels" right, or a major event occurs, as long as the rest can stand on its own.  Still pretty tricky, though.

These chapters take a real long time to write...

"There are 1286 words in your document" What's funny is that i'm done writing about half a year.

Edit: I think i'm just going to release mediumish bits of chapters on the same page then when something important happens, i'll make a new chapter.

Very much liking this new story.  I always had your old one in the back of my mind to read sometime, but never got around to it  :-[

I like the new style but its quite slower paced. I could probably fit 2 of my Precursor campaign chapters into the introduction alone. Ah well, more detail = fun.

I like the new style, although did they not end up in Proxima? You have a different system name in Chapter 1 as to the prologue.

As for the Space Russians:

Remember the warp drives? Well, the Ruskies made a few exploration ships, and found a habitable world only a couple jumps away. So, they built a colony ship, and oops, turns out that aliens live on it. Colony ship runs away, aliens find Sol, they start pewpewing it. Everyone dies, the end.

If you want to talk about the giant horde of Space Russians and how they are going to die/what you think might happen to them, post that here.
