warhammer 40k related tech and units

I would love to see tech modules and weapons and units and stuff from warhammer 40k since there's already a warhammer 40k name list/theme why not warhammer 40k themed tech and units

You can rename units and tech yourself to better fit the theme of your game, also you might not have seen this but the next game version will have Titans added to the ground units.

You do realize that a few of the changes in the next version are precisely that? Like the Titans and Particle Lance. And that a few techs in game are already direct equivalents to WH40k? Also the civilian hangars/maintenance storage/magazines, DSMF, and the changes to maintenance may be Steve making it easier to build a Port Maw.

Actually its very easy.

Add minerals on Earth and other Sol planets ( to properly build up fleet and industry without exodus to other systems ).
Build each ship with drop modules and troop transport modules.
Rename ground units ( construction brigades to techpriests, mobile infantry to Imperial Guard, garrisons to planetary defence force etc ).
Kill every ayy lmao on sight.
Name missiles "torpedo", go for cannon heavy ships, jump drives can be renamed to "Astropaths choir" or something like that...

I'm probably not going to continue my current campaign in the new version (as will need to run smaller scale test games). With that in mind, here are some of the designs from a major WH40K-themed alien race that didn't make it into the fiction (not an exhaustive list as there are a lot more designs). Torpedoes are missiles, particle lances are a new version of the particle beam for v7.2, defence turrets are gauss cannon, bombardment cannon are lasers, nova cannon is a massive spinal laser, weapon batteries are railguns, void shields are normal shields.

Sad you cannot continue the previous campaign. I am a bit excited to see what you do next though. :)

Given I didn't get to use the WH40k style fleet, I am considering a 'Great Crusade' style campaign (pre-Horus Heresy). In brief, humanity once had a great interstellar Empire but it fell apart when some unspecified galactic event shut down all jump points. Now, centuries later, Earth is united once more and the jump points are open again, albeit with different links. The 'Imperium' will send out fleets with the intention of rebuilding the Empire.

This means scattered human populations (some hostile), plus the scattered remnants of various hostile alien (NPR) empires. There will be equivalents of Chaos, Tau, Necrons, Tyranids, Eldar, Orks, etc.. I'll create some special features for each NPR type to give them the right flavour. For example, high production/growth but low tech for Orks, mobile craft worlds for Eldar who defend them fiercely, Necrons emerging on ruin worlds, high tech but small pop Tau, Tyranids converting bio-matter to more ships. For Chaos, I might create nebula systems with  lethal radiation for any ships without shields and the Chaos forces are immune (or something on those lines). They will build up and attack everyone else at intervals.

Anyway, still a long way off but lots of possibility.

I always used spoilers for this.

Swarm was Tyranids, Invaders - Chaos ( appearing anywhere, big threat in space ) and Precursors - Eldars with their fast and agile ships ..

Steve, that's a fantastic idea. I'm just gutted we have to wait for C# Aurora for the likes of the Titans so that I can do Battletech/40k themed games, but on the other hand, the idea of aliens being able to take/be given racial traits would be great.
