Sensor range for orbiting spaceships
« on: February 21, 2018, 10:33:59 PM »
I believe orbiting space craft should get a 50% or more reduction to their profile, as the background noise of the planet hides their signature, or simulates they are on the other side, this would result in some nice ambushes, in have space terrain involved. The biggest problem with Aurora Sensor ability is it see everything even when terrain features could be used.

Thoughts?

I might be in support of ships being able to hide themselves even better than that on adequately sized bodies.  It would be really cool to have a real ambush mechanic outside of simple jump point bushwhacks.  For one thing the ambushers could be watching with passives and ignore scouts before attacking the enemy fleet proper.  With jump points you cant try to wait for good opportunities in that way.

Agreed, that would be sweet.
