how to undo obsolete stuff from basic ship systems ?
I cant find it in tech view ...
-
Its in tech view, just make sure the show obsolete option is checked.
-
in tech view there are divisions
and there is no division called basic systems
i.e damage control , fuel , engineering
-
Those can't be turned off, yes that is a feature request I would share.
-
Click on show obsolete tech on the design tab of the F5 ship design page. go to the obsolete tech you want to unobsolete, and click obsolete again. the switch is a toggle.
-
for my engineering space it doesn't work ...
-
I can't reproduce that. Can you atleast add engineering bays to designs from the obsolete components list?
-
you cant
you can delete engineering section and try to add it back
problem is it in none of available equipment division in tech view
-
Okay, I'm going to assume that you are looking at the technology report and not the design tab. Go to the design page where you first obsoleted engineering bays(not the tech view). click the show obsolete checkbox. it should look something like the attached image. are engineering bays visible there? if they are click on them, and click obsolete again. If they are not then something is seriously wrong with your particular version of aurora and you should reinstall it.
-
have you recreated and solve my problem ?
like obsolete engineering and bringing it back ???
or you give general idea ?
-
Sneer, unless you have database access there is nothing you can do. This is one of those little known issues players are supposed to avoid. As you've found there is no in game mechanic to reverse setting basic tech items from hving been flagged as obsolete. The flag is at a race level, so it will not affect new games.
-
I supposed so
but Nathan confued me a bit
-
I would go ahead an log this in the official bugs thread, with a link back to this thread. Either you shouldn't be able to obsolete basic tech components, or you should be able to un-obsolete them.

So just to be clear, you can't reproduce what I'm doing in these 3 screenshots?
-
That's a good visual, Nathan. I was trying to figure out how to say it all, but you nailed it.
-
got it now
thx

Good to hear, I'm somewhat surprised that this is that obscure a feature, perhaps the button could be renamed.
