Title: File uploading site
Post by: Detjen on May 31, 2011, 04:44:37 AM
I will upload a save copy of the game, mostly to help everyone see where we are at.  for example those interested in building components can use the design tools to see what exactly they can produce.  same will go for making ships and the like or assigning military personnel to ships an so forth and noone has to worry about finding data that I dont want them to see technically everything available should be known by the players anyways.   my secret ideas will remain out of view until i choose to unleash them,  how much you see and know is up to the person who downloads the file.

My only question is does anyone have suggestion/preference for a file sharing site,  probly something that will let me do this fairly often so we can update regularly.

OOC: Detjen, could I just ask screenies from you I like not to know all the details, this way it allows me to just see your news and not look at other area which I would not know about I like the realism of that, in the Ministry, I will request from my staff (you) the necessary information which they could submit back to me.

If this too much of a bother I will try to get in and out of the area without poking around.

Ill try to accomidate as requested,   I just see a great deal of screenshots cropping up in short time and they might not come as readily as a save file.   but Ill try it.

I'm using mediafire to store my saves for when I move from one PC to the other on weekends. So far, so good.

edit: I like it because it requires no registration.

I would use dropbox and public hyperlinks links, it is a really good way of managing your files, and zero uptime and fast administration.

There is a Download section here at the site too. Only limitation is a 2gig file size.

The Galactic Map has a button that saves a picture of the map. For all other Aurora windows you have to use Alt+Print Scrn. That puts a screenshot of just the current window onto the clipboard which you then have to paste into an image editor such as Paint, Paint.NET, Photoshop, etc.

If you have windows7 there is a really good input tool called the snipping tool, this will crop and snap the image at the same time, it will save a lot of effort. You will find it under accessories

If you're actually still looking for an answer, I'm pretty sure that the save file is Stevefire.mdb in whatever place your aurora folder is.

It will, but if you really don't want that happening, you could copy the database and paste it somewhere, start up aurora and delete your other save file put that into a file uploading site, and then put your original database back in.
