What just happened?
« on: April 17, 2012, 03:34:36 PM »
I had (or maybe I have, I don't know what's going on) a colony with some ruins, 20 engineering units and 8 assault infantry units (also some headquarters), small population and over 300 civilian ships on orbit. There were some robotic guardians, but my military had no problem with them. Next thing I see in event log is like that:
over 300 informations about surrendered ships?
information that my colony has been looted???
information that I have looted my own colony?????

rest was standard combat and event information

Now what is going on on my planet right now- planet is still mine, ships are still mine (albeit in one ship TG so if there is some way to get 300 ships into one TG I would appreciate if someone told me) and my army is GONE.

My question is simple - what just have happened?

PS is there fast way to delete 330 empty task groups?

Best way I know of is giving orders to each TG to join another one. When they join, the old TG no longer exists.

For the rest, looks like you got unlucky with ground battles and a bug showed itself. Maybe.

There was a bug when you defeated the last robotic defender of a ruin, your colony surrendered to them. I thought Steve had fixed this one though. Might be a good idea to post it in the bugs thread.

I remember seeing something similar on a conquered NPR homeworld in the 5.5x branch, but I remember remarkably few details. Namely, that it was a conquered NPR homeworld in the 5.5x branch. :S

Before you report the bug, what version are you playing?

I can confirm this bug. Just recently lost/recaptured a colony of mine, loosing 2 brigades. Unfortunately, I got sloppy with the backups, so I can´t provied one before it happened.

It doesn´t seem to have changed from earlier versions.

Every combat turn, my colony would take 1 point of damage, which doesn´t destroy anything and nothing else would happen.
Once I received 2 points of damage, resulting in a loss of 0.025 colonists, some infrastructure and a mine or a factory, the population surrender event triggers.

In my older games, this only ever happened once in every game / with every new database.

Maybe the guardians are not flaged as active by Aurora until they capture their first colony or something and so Aurora finds only one race on a planet, fighting itself.
