FYI, there are some starter rules/scenarios for learning the tactical rules. They are available free for download at the SDS site.

Unfortunately, I cannot help you there, I am still playing 3rdR in terms of starfire, and starfire assistant was not updated for newer versions. Did you check in over at the SDS website and their forum? There players of the newer versions tend to congregate afaik.

if I remember right, there are usually some tactical scenarious in an appendix of teh rules to elarn the combat system with a friend or several. As for campaign games, there should be forms provided, or even excel spreadsheets available from SDS or their forums. It helps to build a system and try economy for a few turns to geta  feeling. Also, campaigns are often looking for players via the SDS forums.

SDS = Starfire Design Studios, the publishers of Solar starfire.

I just bought the Solar Starfire Rulebook, and it is quite overwhelming.
Are there any good ways, premade scenarios or ships for Solar Starfire for getting the hang of the tactical combat system before attempting a campaign?
Are there any help tools for record keeping, paper or electronic?
Any other tips on how to get into the game system?
