This is where I'll make the reports of what's happened or what is currently happening.

1st of January, the 1st year of the Feudal Calendar

Earth has expanded! Rejoice, as our mastery of the Warp-hole Jump has allowed us to colonise 5 more planets, cementing our species' eternal survival!

The Warp-hole jump, designed in 2437 of the Old Calendar (-30 Feudal Calendar) allowed humanity to make short jumps through space. Now, however, the range between planets is too great, so Humanity must turn its implacable power to master space itself!

The Admirals want you! The scientists are creating new technologies daily! The first of our Star Ships will soon leave the cradle! Join the Navy to see the galaxy, to see stars that have never been seen before!

The First Day of the new calendar was historic for many reasons. Firstly, it created a new error in human society as we based our Calendar not on religious significance, but on our own achievements. Secondly, and perhaps even more importantly, it was the day the first Six Admirals were sworn in.
There were a half-dozen colonies, each defined as its own 'Sector' with a single Admiral to defend and expand the colony. In those times, the colonies were not named, that task being left to the Admirals if they chose.
The Six Admirals 'deferred' to a man called, in those times, the President, whose job was to do little more than keep a balance of power between the Admirals. Admirals were able to make any policy or plan they wanted, but could be sacked at a bi-annual meeting of the Admirals and President if there was a majority against them. At first, people believed the President would be little more than a tie-breaker.
Nobody could prepare for the what happened.

BREAKING NEWS

At approximately 00:15 this morning, the SETI institute detected an extra-terrestrial signal. Aleksander is on the scene.

ALEKSANDER: Thank you, Carrie. I'm here at SETI, the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence insititue where, for the second time in history, they have picked up a signal originating from non-Human space. While many have claimed it a hoax, or else a garbled transmission from one of our colonies, the SETI researchers are adamant that this signal came from a direction that our Human Empire has never expanded in. I'm here with SETI researcher Dr. Nicolas Rush to explain.

DR RUSH: The Signal is eroded and garbled from long travel time, and it's impossible to translate it. However, our early tests and calcculations put it at roughly 1000 years old, which means that, 1000 years ago, there was a species in that direction capable of sending advanced, interstellar signals. They may have died out, they may still be there, we just won't know until we get there.

ALEKSANDER: Is there anything concrete we do know, Doctor?

DR RUSH: We are not alone.

WE ARE NOT ALONE

Colonists on the Earth-claimed world of Sirius-A III, under the leadership of Admiral Magus, have discovered an alien species living on a remote continent! These aliens seem capable of space flight.

In response, Planetary Authorities have attempted to rush through construction of defense vessels and armies in case of the crash.

In response to this, all the colonies have begun to protest, believing they require better protection.
