Finally Moved!
« on: September 06, 2008, 08:04:18 AM »
After several false starts we have finally moved home. I have just got  the internet connection up and running but it is likely to be a few days before I can start posting properly and working on Aurora again.

You aren't moved until everything in unpacked, in the wise words of Mrs. Incredible.

But congrats :)

Congratulations!

You finally got the colonists and infrastructure offloaded at the new colony site.

Just hope your new home is bigger than the old one.  We still have so many boxes and furniture in our 2 car garage, we can't pull a car in.
But it's always nice when you decide you are "in"  your new home.

We moved out of a large 6-bed into a normal-sized 4-bed. I just didn't realise how large our old house was until we tried getting our stuff into this house. We have given away a lot of furniture to charity and I had to throw away hundreds of books and videos (which I found very difficult) because I couldn't even give them away. Even after all that, our garage is full of furniture and we will need to try selling some.

We sold 18 months ago and I had put money down on some land in Spain but the sale fell through at the last minute and we lost the money. This time we are renting this house for a year so we can plan with more certainty for our next move. My vote is Las Vegas but I am not sure I can convince my wife :)

The Consortium or Aurora Players vetoes this vote.  On the grounds that no new work on Aurora will ever get done if allowed!!!

Steve, much as I'd think it would be fun if you were near by, you might consider that you are British and Las Vegas has no clouds.

I'd hate to have you burst into flame the first time you step outside during the day.

Been there.  Put a deposit down on a house in Maryland, sold the one in Connecticut, put a 4 bedroom house of stuff in the basement.  Financing fell through.  Ended up with 4 bedroom "stuff" really stuffed into an apartment.  Piles of boxes almost to the ceiling, and then 2 canoes on top.  Narrow paths between the piles to access kitchen and bathroom.  Book boxes near walls (not ground floor).
