Pardon my stupid..
« on: February 09, 2012, 10:31:17 AM »
Several searches and perusal of the Installation, FAQs, Academy, etc., have failed to answer this simple question: When I reformatted my HD and installed Aurora on Win7 instead of Vista... Why can I not find the directory containing race images, ship icons, etc? Surely I must be missing a download link somewhere? I used the link provided in the 5.54 full install, and then the 5.60 update.

Someone please show me how blindly stupid I am :)

If I recall, there is another zip file in the full install containing the files you are missing. Did you unzip that?

It is within the 5.54 patch .zip. Which I skipped in favor of 5.6. Which makes me wonder if perhaps I shouldn't have skipped 5.54? But I have had no issues... Using a backed-up 5.60 database.

Either way, thank you. Perhaps it should be bundled separately of the 5.54 patch? Or is that a vital update before then updating to 5.56/5.60?

I followed all the instructions here and there should be no problem at all, even with Win7.

Well, as I said, I've had no issues, and I don't believe skipping 5.54 in favor of 5.60 (in terms of installing in that order) would make a difference, considering that 5.54 only updated aurora.exe (if I remember correctly), and I used a 5.60 database.

Just a thought for future full installations. (Separate race images, medals, flags, etc.)

Skipping the database/exe part of 5.54 should have no impact. But the additional folders are needed.
