Hello,
In my game the goal is to discover all the systems. My first NPR was very hostile, so they had to die. But now I am nearly finished with exploration, but found two more NPRs, one of them is really friendly and likely very low tech level (they don't even have spaceships as far as i can tell), the other one is slightly friendly but surely very xenophobic b/c diplomacy progress is veeeery slow. These guys have a lot of ships though, and they didn't attack me yet, but they make the game very slow b/c pf their ships. I am tempted to destroy them just because of this. It would surely be easier now since they haven't spread out yet i guess.
So I was just curious how do you treat your NPR races in your games? In particular, friendly NPRs? Do you let them live, or destroy them asap?

I like to have long wars with enemy NPRs, but with friendly ones I tend to be friendly and do some trading and eventually get into an alliance.

Are they staying friendly in the long run? Don't backstab you later with your own high tech?
How do you trade with them? You mean, the civilians doing the trading, right?

Yes, you find one of their colonies (and they one of yours), enter a trade agreement, and civies will trade and generate income.

I like to keep the friendly's that way. I have enough problems with the unfriendlys.

The complete genocide of every other race in the galaxy is the only possible and safe solution.

Every single sentinel galactic civilization consumes more "Galactic Processing Power", so the only solution is to integrate into a single sentinel civilization ;D.

My last game ended abruptly because of bugged NPR ships somewhere created zillions of error messages, so this is another reason for a preventative cleansing. ;)

I always keep it in mind when I'm dealing with enemies. I drop a few hundred worldburner bombs on them.

Sometimes I play 4 times EXterminate simply.

I've never actually managed to stay on friendly terms with xenos. Not for more then a few decades at least.
Even if we have tradeships going back and forth between our colonies they always end up launching missiles at my ships sooner or later.
Nowadays I just give all xenos I come across the "warhammer solution" as soon as possible.

Srsly, my First Contact always end's up in all out shooting wars.
Only friendly NPR's are in my Multi Earth starts ( even Multi Sol starts always end up in flames ).

I try to be a good friend... but if I happen across a casus belli and it'd make the game more interesting, I take it.
The way I see it, a former friend whom you feed all your fancy tech is a welcome challenge when the others ceased to be one.

ahh nomenclature, I call those filthy Alien scum, who must die (though it can be tiring writing that out every time in intelligence reports)

If they dont shoot me first, and want to talk, I will talk. Especially if they are higher tech!
I have had a couple of games where the NPR's actually traded me (gave me) tech. Most of the time, they give me missiles, business end first.
Low tech races are good for a while to generate trade income, and they dont spam ships, so thats worth keeping them around for a while. They usually end of joining my empire though, once their trade value declines. :)
Friendly aliens that park massive fleets over my worlds and cause huge lag, tend to get shot.....

Defeating them quickly with minimal casualties because i don't trust that they will actually be able to not kill themselves by spawning spoiler ships

I thought it was eXterminate, eXterminate, eXterminate, eXterminate. You mean to say those lesser organisms have meat in their skulls, and they can flap their meat to communicate as well?

Maybe you should start telling your contact teams to not say things about the aliens mothers...
