I just started a new game, set up my initial industrial and research queues, and began clicking the 30-day button.  Time keeps going forward by only 60 seconds on each click, and this has now been going on for a few game hours.

Has anybody ever seen this problem before?  It doesn't seem possible that there could be alien fleets in contact with each other this early, so I'm guessing there's something simple I forgot to do which would prevent this.

I believe it is possible for an initial NPR to spawn in the same system as precursors which could be what is causing the slowdown as they spot each other on sensors.

I agree, computer controlled races spawning in the same system could cause this.  Turn on auto and go have a drink.
