Recovering Past Saves

(1/2) > >>

Steve Walmsley:
When Aurora saves the game, it creates a copy of the two previous saves. The current save is in the Aurora.db file. The preceding saves are contained in AuroraDBSaveBackup.db and AuroraDBPreviousSaveBackup.db.

If you have a problem with the game and wish to revert to a previous save, you can delete Aurora.db then rename one of the save files to Aurora.db.

You can also create your own backup saves by creating a copy of the Aurora.db file and storing it outside the Aurora directory. To restore it, delete the Aurora.db from the Aurora directory and move your backup file into that directory.

Sidenote:
Just keep in mind to always match the database with the correct version of Aurora. exe

If you change the Aurora. exe then be very careful with using old database backups.

Thank you, I was wondering how to do this :)

Gabethebaldandbold:
oh god I can feel the urge to savescum already

Erik L:
Steve, do you save the game version in the database?

Might be worth doing and having the executable check that on launch and squawk if it doesn't match.
