I did a dumbs. I built a fighter and then accidentally left it in orbit. Now, it's missile launcher has had a maintenance failure. Obviously, my fighter doesn't have enough maintenance points to repair the damage. Is there any other way to repair it?

Move the Fighter into a hangar (Carrier, PDC) and try again. It should then Carriers MSP then for repairs.

Live mostly been using space master to repair my fighter maintenance failures, the extra micromanagement just doesn't interest me. I figure I have sufficient fighter transport or repair vessels, their captains know their job so they should be able to handle it.
Your options for "cheating" are either use the repair all button, or just transfer the fighter into a task group containing a repair vessel (any ship with a hanger), either option is possible with SM mode on.

This ship is classed as a Planetary Defence Centre
It has Damage Control, Maintenance Modules, Maintenance Storage Bays a huge hangar.. but when I land the fighters there (as mothership) and I try to repair the systems, the game always send the message that there are not enough maintenance supplies for the reparation.
-
Maintenance supplies are a planetary supply, like fuel, they have to be manufactured. On the Population and production window, look at the summary. The next line under "fuel available" you should see "maintenance supplies" available.
To make them: On the industry tab, under construction options, scroll down to maintenance supplies, build a few thousand to get started.
-
This won't help. Nothing will help. Because:
1. Maint Storage Bay will add exactly zero MSP to the PDC, and...
2. since fighter use mothership's (in this case, PDC) MSP to repair, it is unable to do so (because there's zero MSP).
Refer to image: the PDC in question has 5 maintenance storage bays, but is unable to load a single unit of MSP onboard.

I have the very smae problem. . . fighter on PDC cannot be repaired. . . the PDC simply doesnt want to hold any maintenance supplies wich is a shame :(.
-
The issue is to do with engineering spaces, when a ship has zero engineering spaces then it's MSP is always set to 0 no matter how many storage bays you add. If you then say add a single engineering space to a ship that already has 4 storage bays the MSP suddenly jumps to over 4000. Since a PDC cannot have an engineering space on it then it also cannot hold any MSP.
Now as maintenance has been changed in 7.2 this could be a problem as ships will be looking for supplies rather than minerals. But then PDC's always just took the minerals from the colony supply, so will they do the same for MSP?
