Hull clutter

Is there a way to clean up that list of hull types and make new ones?  The database that comes with the 6.1 patch seems to be pre-cluttered.

I pull the stevefire.mdb from the 6.1 patch and copy it over my stevefire.mdb.  I then start the program, delete the one existing game, and make a new one with manual control of starting tech, and no automatically generated ships.

The hull types list is already populated.

Anytime you create a new hull type in a game, that hull type is exposed to all games in the DB.

Is there some way I can get a clean db that'll run with 6.1?  The db that's in the 6.1 distribution, near as I can figure, already has several dozen hull types.  I tried running 6.1 with the database from the 6.0 patch, but that didn't work any better than I expected it to.

I'm probably overlooking something obvious here, or doing it wrong when I copy the stevefire.mdb from the patch zip on top of the version I've already got?

The only way would be if Steve or someone with database access cleaned them out.

Oh.  Well, it's hardly worth making a fuss over, if there isn't already some easy way to do it.  Putting it right out of my mind.
