combining jump drives
« on: February 16, 2010, 01:44:37 PM »
I am a little confused about jump drives. If I have a drive that can "jump" a 5000 ton ship...and can carry 3 ships with it, that means that I can put the jump ship and 3 others with it as long as they are under 5k tons (or the mass of the jump ship...whichever is lower) right?

Ok, so can I place 3 of these jump engines on a ship and carry 3 15k ships through (assume jump ship now weighs 15 tons)? Can I combine jump engines? I don't want to build this ship and find it doesn't work (like they do in real life!)

The jump ship always counts against the total. So your 3 ship jump engine would transit the jump ship and 2 others.

And no, you cannot combine multiple JE on one ship. Need to build bigger ones.
