lol its not like reading the NDA will bind you to it. It has to be signed. But we do take it seriously. This game has had a lot of time and effort put into it over the past several years. We would like to be able to protect it until it's published.

I am interested in how you use an msflexgrid and have what looks like an integrated drop down in it. I have a free download called Lynx that does it, but it looks sloppy compared to what you use.

Because VB6 is getting long in the tooth, I am looking at alternatives like jabaco which uses the VB6 language, but I think compiles to bytecode. Unfortunately, Lynx is also not supported in this, so its double indemnity.


It's looking good Haegan. Don't worry too much about how long it takes. While I blitz through interfaces whenever I write a program, it's the coding that really takes time. As always, if you need any assets/help with anything, feel free to give me a shout.

(I'm a bit burnt out right now, went on a 4 day trip with my band to Moscow, Idaho for the Jazz Festival.)

The real delay is the programming. Its being done on my free time, which isn't as much as I would like these days. I seem to be averaging a screen every two weeks at this point, but the screens are fairly simple right now. As I am going I am designing the DB as well. By the time the Racial, Nation, Regional, and unit design screens are done, we will have 80% of the DB effectively made. 

We have the Racial creation, Government design, and the first screen of the Nation creation process done. Next is the Infrastructure and population purchasing screen to do. Then the Region/World creation screen. I am not sure If we will be able to add the infra and pop in on that screen or if we are going to have yet another screen for this.

Gov creation screen is done, spot created in the DB for it, and load code for when the game is loaded is done!

Onto coding the national advantages / disadvantages!

On the flip side, some species choices are basically fluff, like the bio-classification. Speaking of which, we may want to find animal pics and stuff for the player to choose from. In fact, I will create a spot in the racial table for this tonight. if we use it its there, if not, no coding will be lost on this owie... :D

I admit I prefer the squares as i can estimate distances easy(i know, i'm weird), but I am so used to the hex that it is difficult to imagine using anything else. I guess that is from too many Battletech and starfleet battles games!

Ken has 5 more books halfway or more done and a few getting the final polish. His books cover a wide variety of genres from post apocalyptic action to classic space opera with his own distinct touch. One of the many things I like about his stories is that they give you a sense of history as they stories often build upon one another.

His villains and heroes both are complex and each have a history of their own. This and many other things have contributed to the creation of an immersive universe that I have enjoyed reading and commenting upon for the past three years and more. I have even been able to contribute to several story lines and plots as well. If you look carefully, you may find them. :)

Yes, this is a plug for my bud! But its a plug that he has earned. I am a voracious reader and have learned to discern good from bad over the past 29 years of reading. If your looking for an enjoyable military oriented read, try him out. I don't think you will be disappointed!

As a side note, the Haloar species very much so resembles a deinonychus. A google picture search will pull up a goodly number of reference pics. Aside from have slightly larger lips that can  cover the teeth, and being covered in feathers both large and small there are not many differences from the pics. Though now that i think of it,the arms are likely somewhat longer. gnite all!

Sweden is small enough to be easy to play for a beginning player. Of course, whether or not it stays small is entirely up to you!
