Aegyptus Rises: The years 1-10
« on: July 27, 2012, 02:54:08 PM »
1st January, 1

The new world that Egypt had colonised had grown rapidly, nearly quadrupling in size since they had arrived, 20 years ago. Sadly, the ship that arrived there had fell out of orbit, and burnt up in the planet’s atmosphere.

The name of the planet was taken from the extinct races database; Sola. It is a beautiful world, completely pristine, and void of any animals except plants. The solar system has one potential candidate for expansion, a chilly iceball with a breathable atmosphere, but an average temperature of -127 C. 3/4ths of the surface is covered by an immense ice sheet, 1km thick, though with the technology inherited from the extinct alien race, it is very possible to make it completely friendly to life.

Other than that, there are nearly 400 asteroids, several chunks of planets, and a super Jovian around the system. The star’s name is Home, and the overseer of the empire is Alexandra Williams, he was only one year old when the colony ship arrived, but now he is 21. He is a gifted administrator, and also well versed in ship-building, production, and mining. His father was a member of the guard, and taught him early on in life how most armies work, and he also studied the ancient city during a xenology course in collage.

Once appointed, he drafted the two leading scientists to work on creating their own ship sensors, and missile controls. He scheduled the construction of a hundred units worth of infastructure, and announced a bold new plan of colonization.

Civilian shipping agency Nash Services was hired to begin design of three ships: a colony ship, a freighter, and a geological survey ship.

((Just letting you know, I'm adding parts of this as events happen, so you won't have to wait half a month between updates, and then digest 10 years of info all at once.))

1st December, 1:

The cargo ship and two survey vessels are done. Also, research on a smaller engine for FAC has been researched. Now under research is beam fire control, and 20cm plasma carronades, for point blank defence of  jump points.

17th June, 2

The two survey ships have departed; one is scheduled to scan as many bodies as possible, the other will survey the near-habitable “Frigid Reach”, and 100 infastructure has been transported to the future colony site.

30th June, 2

The geological survey ship scanning Frigid Reach has found 21 million tons of Duranium at 0.4 accessibility, half a million tons of Corbomite at 0.1 accessibility, and 17 million tons of Boronide at 0.1 accessibility.

This would mean that unless the geological survey team can find more minerals, that the ship missed, Frigid Reach will be more of a population center rather than a mining world once it’s terra-formed.

Two terraforming installations have been slated for construction, they are estimated to be finished near the middle of October.

May 1st, 3

Nash Services, a civilian shipping line has recently built the first civilian-owned ship in the empire. It is a Polis Class Cargoship, and will most likely help develop the Frigid Reach Colony.

20th September, 3

Nash services has finished construction of two Malachai class Colony ships. They are currently transporting colonists to Frigid Reach. Research labs are done, and priority has been shifted to mre effective terraforming installations.

12th May, 5:

Things have been fairly routine the past two years. The survey ships have been busy surveying the asteroid belt, and are almost finished. Nash Services now has two colony ships and a cargo ship under it’s control, and is shipping people to Frigid Reach, now home to .35 million; just enough to operate one of the terraformers, basic life-support and agriculture. The scientists are currently trying to build a missile cruiser capable of defending from anything that might trouble them.

9th August, 5:

The system has been fully surveyed, now all that needs to be done is to find the jump points.

21st April, 6:

The first jump point has been discovered, with 6 possible locations for another, all of the in the outer system.

1st May, 6:

Outer Ring Mining has set up the first civilian mining colony on Asteroid #331, a large asteroid in the outer belt, very rich in all of the trans-Newtonian minerals.

19th February, 10:

The “1st Battle Fleet” has finally been assembled, the last two classes used in have finally been built. The Hermes class Area Defence Cruiser is designed to protect the Anubis Cruisers long enough to fire their missiles.  Once sufficient missiles are assembled to fill their magazines, they will start task group training, while the jump tender sends a survey ship through the wormhole to explore it. Also shown below is the Tapajo Command Ship, with the very powerful Raven Search Sensor to back up the fleet.

Also newly established is a new civilian mining outpost on another asteroid. The first one has grown to 3 automated mines,

29th February, 10:

Our first jump-point transit has led to Ross 128. It is a fairly unremarkable system, with a planet similar to Frigid Reach, except without a breathable atmosphere; it’s 80% hydrogen, and has a colony cost of 3. The only other possible candidates for habitation are two moons orbiting a gas giant, with a colony cost of 6 and 7. Jump point survey will begin first, and then geological.
