Potential Detection Bug
« on: April 23, 2020, 12:44:21 PM »
So in my game i have some fleets derping around following NPR ships in my territory. One fleet has a ship with an active sensor pinging away - the other smaller fleets only have passives. These fleets are currently in different systems

The fleet with the active can assign targets to their FCs as usual. However the fleet with only passives cannot assign targets to their FC despite hostile contacts being detected by their passives.

Is this intended? Can only active sensor contacts be targeted in C# aurora? And if it is a bug can someone pls confirm.

I'm pretty sure you always needed active sensors to target ships in VB6. If you want to shoot missiles at signatures then you need missiles with sensors and shoot them at a waypoint near the signature.

I would like to add another important piece of information:

The Active sensor must be in range for the whole period until the missile hits. Losing Active contact even for an increment (5 seconds) will result in the missile to do not hit the target.

Only if the missile does not have an onboard active sensor on its own. If that is the case the missile will fly straight until it finds a lock or runs out of fuel.
