Civilian ships keep blundering into a nearby black hole.
« on: October 25, 2015, 10:54:55 AM »
Hello, I have a Class II black hole near Sol.  Occasionally, some of my civilian ships wander into it and of course, are destroyed.

I thought civilian ships automatically avoid Black Holes that exceed their thrust rating?

Also, how do I restrict traffic to this system to stop this from occurring?

You restrict the system from Galaxy map.

How, exactly?  I'm at the galaxy map now and I can't find that command.

I must be blind but I've gone through every menu I can see in the Galaxy map screen and still no luck on how to restrict travel to a system.

Anyone help?

I don't think there is one. The civilian ships problem sounds like a bug. Civilian ships normally avoid a system if there has been combat recently but in this case they obviously don't regard it as combat. If the BH only has two jump points, one option would be to delete the system and connect the unlinked jump points.

As far as I'm aware There's only an option to ban bodies. Sadly I just discovered it doesn't work on bodies you have a colony on, And my civilians are hell bent on sending more wrecks to barnyards star.

In the system information window ( the one showing all the bodies in a list) you can see a systems ID number .
Clicking the jump points tab shows existing jump points, their distance and bearing and what system ID number they link to. You can add, delete or modify all existing jump points from there.

Sorry, my memory failed me. In the F9 menu you can "ban body" but indeed, there is no way to prevent civilians from using a system.
