Any way around the dreaded 5 second impulse?

I just whacked 4 enemy DDs with my new 2-stage missiles but one ships volley fired early spewing out 64 homing missiles
just out of range of an enemy ship.   All other ships salvos went on to kill the 4 enemy ships leaving no enemy in the system
but it appears I am stuck in the 5 second max impulse while trying to leave the system til the 64 missiles sitting there run
out of fuel.   Its taking forever.   I am reading a book while hitting the 'again' of mulitimpules to get on with it.  Any way
around this? :P

Welcome to Aurora. There is no way around that and it's one of the main features of the game.

Lucky for me then that I have Shelby Footes Civil War Trilogy at hand.   Sometimes, as i described above, something is needed
to keep from screaming....lol!

On the missile salvo screen there is a way to self-destruct missile salvo.
If your problem come from the missile, it will solve it.

well, there gone on their own, out of fuel yet i am still stuck going in 5 sec impulses across the system.   slllllllllow goin.

Edit: then again...once i checked all the lines in the event page i noted that the two DEs still had their weapons set to fire
tho there were no targets for their AMMS.   Once i shut them down time seems to have gone back to normal.   If that was
the fix tho, I am not sure.

Yep, that'll do it. Sounds like the weapons officers were reading unauthorised texts on duty again!

Yes that was the problem. If you do not remember to order a general cease fire for your fleet, you will never stop having the 5 seconds turns. never. Ever :P
