Fire-control re-assigning itself
« on: November 11, 2011, 03:38:04 PM »
I don't know if this is a bug, or some feature which I've accidentally set.

I have a ship design with two beam-fire-control units: one for range, one for PD.

I originally assigned the weapons so the PD fire-control was with the turrets, and range BFC with large fixed-mount lasers.
In battle, the ship keeps reassigning (first noticed when the ship was using the large, fixed lasers to shoot incoming missiles instead of using the turrets!).
If I assign the fire-control just before doing a 5sec increment, it uses my assignment.  Afterward, it has swapped the fire-controls around again.

Anyone know why this might be happening? Is it known, or a possible bug? I have another design using the same weapon and fire-control designs and it doesn't do this.

Are you using the "auto-fire" option? Don't.

Ahhh. . .  I clicked that once while turning on sensors and shields before battle!

That's exactly the kind of "feature" I was wondering if I set.  Thanks blue emu!
