Title: How are Active Sensor EM emmisions calculated?

I can't really find how AS EM emmisions are calculated in C#. Seems it is based on strength and resolution. The emmisions seemd too low to me in 4x at high tech levels (should never be able to outrange a passive EM senser with an active one at the same tech level, which I think I was able to...). However, I just don't want to propose changes without understanding how it works now in the first place.

Not at home at the moment but I think its may be sensor strength x resolution.

In the current model, the size needed for an EM sensor to detect an Active Grav Sensor at that sensor's maximum range is 10/(Resolution^0.5).

A Resolution-1 Active will be detected at its maximum range by a size-10 Passive.
A Resolution-16 Active will be detected at its maximum range by a size-2.5 Passive.
A Resolution-100 Active will be detected at its maximum range by a size-1 Passive.

I don't think the concept has changed - coarse-grained sensors can easily be picked up beyond their own range, fine-grained one will require relatively sophisticated passive sensors.
