Great idea! Done for v2.5.1.

The mechanics are click waypoint on sidebar list, click Move Waypoint button, click on map.

This sounds like a QOL change that could see a lot of use.

I have been fighting raiders and really enjoying the tense search and destroy moments that come from them dipping in and out of sensor contact.  Being able to plot my own waypoints is super useful and rewarding, but the flow can get a little tedious when using many search fleets.

Currently it’s:

Create waypoint(s)
Select fleet in naval organization screen
Remove last command
Assign move to waypoint (double check which waypoint it was)

So I wanted to suggest adding the feature to reposition waypoints while retaining the waypoint’s existing ID and associated assignments.  I couldn’t find a previous suggestion on the forum so sorry if it’s been discussed previously.

The idea is instead of creating new waypoints and updating the move command per fleet, we could reposition the existing waypoints and the fleets would simply continue moving toward their assigned destinations.  I feel like this would allow for complex fleet maneuvers to be managed entirely from the tactical screen with a hopefully minor UI upgrade.

Some ideas how to do it:
Double clicking the waypoint in the system waypoint list and then clicking somewhere on the map.  An additional button in the waypoint menu.
Hotkey+ drag and drop on the tactical map.

Thanks for reading,
