Missile problem

I am currently fighting an NPR in SOL system... My 1st Gunboat flotilla is currently 16 M/Km from the enemy fleet of some 25 ships...
When they dint fired as they should I went into Combat assignments and checked, Ah forgot to to Assign launchers to missile control... Assigned all to the one Missile control on the ship and hit the time button... Still no launching... Strange , went back and finds that my missiles had been deselect... tried once more but always the same result, no missile launch.. Whats wrong...

Did you try to unassign a target to your fire control before assign Missile launcher to the fire control?

Just to make sure you did everything in the proper order

1. You selected your ship
2. You selected the Firecon
3. You selected the missile launchers
4. You hit "Assign" or "Assign All"
5. You select the missiles to shoot
6. You hit "Assign" or "Assign All"    --> You can hit [Copy Assign "Copy TG"] to set up all ships in the TG like that with one click
7. You select the firecon
8. You select the target
9. You hit "Assign"            --> You can hit [Copy Target "Class in TG"] to give that target to each similar ship in the TG
10. You hit: Current Fleet "Open Fire" or, whith the FC still selected, Firing Controls for Selectet Fire Control "Open Fire"

P.S. If you have "autofire" active, this might srew around with your assignments.

If you haven´t done allready, I´d try

1. Hit "Clear Fleet" in the "Assign Contact as Target" window
2. Hit "Clear" in the "Assign Weapons to Selected Fire Control" window


Then procede with No.1 above

The enemy could have ECM as well. Depending on the ECM level, it can REALLY
lower your weapon's effective range.

From your summary it looks like you have not actually managed to assign your missile tubes to the fire control as they are listed as unassigned at the moment. Make sure you have the firecontrol as listed in the top left box clicked on and highlighted before you hit the assign all button at the bottom of the list of missile launchers

I've had this same problem.   And yes, I've fire tens of thousands of missiles, I'm familiar with the process.   The error happened during just one fight so far, 5. 42, with one set of ships.

Note: This problem happened on the Battle Control screen (F8?) workaround was to go to the Individual Ships and manually fire each ship, one at a time.   Fortunately a small battle, so this was feasible.

Missiles on ship, check.
Missiles loaded in launchers, check.
Launchers assigned to fire control, check.
ECCM assigned to fire control, check.
Target assigned, check.
Target in range (FC has range of 35m, targets at range 10m.  and it only has ECM-4, so yep, in range).   Check.

Click the button to have all ships fire, and the launchers are no longer assigned to the fire control.  "Assigned Missiles/Buoys without Shipboard Fire Control" is now all of them.

Reassign launchers to the fire control (only one on the ship), verify everything else is still set, click button to fire the launchers assigned to the selected fire control, and the launchers are now unassigned.

Reassign launchers, try again, same results.   Try the next ship, same problem, try a third ship in the task group, same problem.   Shut down Aurora, reopen, verify everything, same problem.

Go to the Individual ships window, combat tab, set everything up again just to be sure, fire, go to the next ship, repeat 19 times (gunboats, they run in packs).   

And the missiles fire.

Combats prior and after that one, worked as expected.   No clue.
