Chapter 1: The First Drought
« on: February 25, 2012, 01:57:12 PM »
1st January 00: Riots in several major cities are still ongoing. Loyal troops are at full capacity to maintain the Lord-Sovereign's control over the Nevithian race, with new recruitments slowed due to carefully exerminations of their background and loyalty.

4th March 00: Hierarch Fugora and his staff die in an explosion in the new Starfaith command centre. The Hierarch was the assigned communication officer, his death disrupted the vital communication between the far-spread occupation forces of the Lord-Sovereign. Treacherous Sha'Thas assassins are suspected, but no evidence is found. However, the unquestionably loyal troops and population are too few to man all essential positions yet. A replacement is assigned immediately, but Hierarch Shellafun has to familliarise himself with the loose threads left by his predecessor.

7th April 00: Crusader She'Wewirid, commanding officer of the 1st Powered Armour Regiment, is severly wounded by an assassin during a protest in the Veradun territories. Violent surges erupt form the protesters after they noticed his near-death. His extraction is successful after many protesters were wounded or killed by loyalist soldiers. The 1st Regiment is currently lead by a bed-ridden Nevith, which is a heavy blow to the morale and honour of the regiment and its four brigades.

2nd May 00: A bomb in the Sha'Thas territories' main administrative building is defused by a local police bomb squad. The members of the squad were authorised for power armour training and conscripted into the Lord-Sovereign's military for their loyalty.

12th October 00: Larger riots in most of the great clans' territories have died down. Ineffective assaults against military personnel are still a daily occurance, but resistance seems to move underground. Paladin Akencheres, currently the commanding officer of all trans-newtonian ground forces, advises all his subordinate commanders to become extra vigilant because a growing risk of covert operations.

1st December 00: The 2nd Regiment with the help of Paladin Akencheres' honour guard raid a large resistance basis in Sha'Thas territories close to the Lord-Sovereign's official residence. The entire city is locked down for several days. Final death toll: One soldier, 4381 rebels. COllateral damage to several residences and an industrial complex for food production.

3rd March 01: The first day on Kel Nevath since the Lord-Sovereign's rise to power without any reported riot or assault.

4th August 01: A small nuclear bomb detonates close to the residence of the Lord-Sovereign, eliminating a small part of the city, the residence and two dozen loyal soldiers. The rebels claim the successful assassinations of the usurper, but a public appearance later that day reveals that his supposed location was a lie. Seven former soldiers are executed a few hours later, charged with high treason.

5th August 01: The capital city of Sha'Thas territory is put under lockdown and the 1st Regiment relocates all its soldiers into the city and its direct surrounding. The city is cut off from the global information network.

6th August 01: Twelve Nevithians attempted to exit the city during the last twenty-six hours. All were executed publicly.

7th August 01: Several nuclear explosions can be seen in the capital city, many of the former industrial areas reduced to less than ruins. One hundred public executions later that day. New riots arupted around the globe, fueled by the occurances in the capital.

8th August 01: The capital is officially relocated, with a new residence for the Lord-Sovereign under heavy guard. Supposedly leaked information tells of a open revolt in the former capital, with over 50% of its populace slaughtered by the 1st Regiment. Riots in the rest of the world decrease in intensity, the exact reason unclear.

10th August 01: Another nuclear explosion erupts from the former capital, located close to the city's centre. First loyalist reports in the media speak of rebels detonating all the bombs, with the 1st Regiment desperatly trying to protect the civilian population.

11th August 01: The former capital city is no longer under lockdown. Casulties are still being counted, but estimated at over 70% with little to no food production left in the city. The 1st Regiment remains stationed in the city, executing thirty Nevithians later that day for supposed looting.

12th August 01: A media broadcast from the smouldering ruins of the capital ruins depicts a self proclaimed rebel leader challenging the Lord-Sovereign to a duel under fair conditions. The rebel is shot by the 1st Regiment live on air, Paladin Akencheres making a brief announcement about the honourlessness of the rebels and their inabillity to challenge any loyal Nevith to a duel.

13th August 01: Four more executions over the course of the day. The first Sha'Thas revolution has officially ended after nine bloody days.

27th December 01: Unknown to the public eye, loyalist researchers finish tests on a new kind of power plant. It centres on pressurised water for its functionality, which is considered a too valuable resource to commit to large scale manufaction.

27th February 02: The Tiovhan clan, a mediocre clan in the Veradun territories, announces its defection from the greater clan. The Tiovhan elder declares himself a rival Lord-Sovereign to Tentar Kalar.

15th March 02: The majority of the 1st Regiment is relocated into Veradun territories. Instead of marching into the main settlement of the Tiovhan clan, they utilise conventional artillery to bombard the population from afar. They receive aid from the greater clan of Veradun and its military.

28th March 02: The Tiovhan main settlement is razed to the ground, with the 1st Regiment executing any of the 'honourless cowards' that attempted to flee. The Veradun clan and its military receive a commendation from the Lord-Sovereign.

29th March 02: The 1st Regiment continues its hunt for any Tiovhan strugglers. By the time the next drought arrives, the Tiovhan bloodline is fully exterminated.

1st September 02: All Veradun military is officially authorised to receive power armour training.

3rd February 03: Researchers increased the efficiency by which the pressurised water reactors may produce energy. Starfaith planners are still dissatisfied with the sacrifice Kel Nevath would have to make to outfit a fleet with such reactors, but their divine mothers might demand such a sacrifice of the Nevithians to prove their worth. Allowance is given for the researches to look for a way to reach for the other celestial children of the Four Mothers.

17th March 03: Several bombs detonate in various Veradun settlements over the course of the next few weeks. Security is increased and the military put into the highest alert stance. No large rebel cells will be found, however.

29th August 03: The Sha'Thas Sovereign proclaims the defection of the Sha'Thas from the Lord-Sovereign's unhonourable tyranny. The Lord-Sovereign calls for the Veradun military to wage war on the Sha'Thas rebels to prove their worth.

30th August 03: Many of the Lord-Sovereign's assets in Sha'Thas territory are seized, bombed or defect on their own accord. All remaining troops and personnel retreat to Veradun territory. Further demand is voiced by the Lord-Sovereign for the other great clans to wage war on the Sha'Thas uprising.

1st September 03: The greater clan of Torpua declines its cooperation for the joint attack on Sha'Thas territories, but distanciates itself from the rebels. The Torpua Sovereign Zu'Bevok is reprimanded by the Lord-Sovereign for disobeying his command, but otherwise surprisingly left alone.

3rd September 03: While heavy fighting takes place on the borders, a crack team of power armoured soldiers moves under cover towards the Sha'Thas centre of rebellion.

4th September 03: A public broadcast of the Lord-Sovereign and his squad infiltrating the rebel Sovereign's residence can be received all over the globe. After confrontation, the Lord-Sovereign challenges his opponent to a duel, whom requests to fight without power armour. Surprisingly, the Lord-Sovereign agrees and manages to defeat his opponent in a fair duel. The Lord-Sovereigns still armed honour guard - among them Paladin Akencheres - guards over the duel, preventing a total of three assassination attempts from the rebel Sovereign's guards.

5th September 03: Fighting dies down on the borders as many of the Sha'Thas rebels honourably admit defeat after the broadcast, ashamed by the assassination attempts of their leader's personal guard. Torpua Sovereign Zu'Bevok swears his loyalty to the Lord-Sovereign after his honourable defeat of the Sha'Thas Sovereign.

11th September 03: Fractured, the second Sha'Thas rebellion collapses completly. All of the rebels who didn't surrender immediatly are executed even if they surrendered in the later days. After a full day without any reported fighting, the Lord-Sovereign declares himself both Lord-Sovereign and Sovereign of the Sha'Thas territories in order to eliminate any further uprisings. Several protests arise, but only few Nevithians are seen on the street, with most of them honouring the duel transmitted live from the residency.

1st January 04: Inventory about the damage in Sha'Thas lands is taken. Several border settlements were destroyed by conventional warfare from the other greater clans. The former capital lies in ruins from the bombings several years ago, which still couldn't be pinned on neither the 1st Regiment nor the rebels. Due to the heavy damage, the Lord-Sovereign declares the Veradun territory to be the new racial captal region and centre of administration. Reconstruction aid is sent to Sha'Thas hotspots, but the damage will take several droughts to be fully repaired.

19th February 04: Several trans-newtonian industrial complexes are finished and put to production, scattered among all territories except those of the Sha'Thas. New mining facilities are located close to them, supplying the new industry with precious resources. Information about the trans-newtonian basis behind the power armour and the advancement this technology brings is published over the course of a week. For the first time since the Lord-Sovereign's rise of power, the general population seems to appreciate the new situation.

1st June 04: The first drought of the Lord-Sovereign's reign is about to begin, with an increase in radiation storms and water shortages, no large scale protests and confrontations are expected for the coming month. The situation on Kel Nevath has swayed from uncertain to bad, to worse and finally optimistic.
