The missing ships were refits. For some reason the ship class table had lost the hull type.

I've some fleets that properly list the assigned ships left hand window when in "fleet tree view" but don't show in the right hand window. This appears to be restricted to one race that amalgamated about 10 turn previously. I've only recently noticed this and can't say for sure that it wasn't happening at the time of amalgamation.
I've looked at the ship table and all fleet and map group id's appear to be correct.
