[ooc]Hey guys so this is my first serious attempt at an AAR for Aurora, I hope you guys enjoy it. I have done a little bit of editing in SM mode to give myself resources and populations on the Moon and Mars.[/ooc]

Background History
The UFE (United Federation of Earth) formed in 2062, formed from member nations of the now defunct United Nations. Forming after the Slater Report was published to the UN catagorically stating that climate change would lead to the end of life as we knew it on Earth if the world did not act in a unified manner to counteract the effects. It was arround this time that the possible existance of Trans-Newtonian materials where discovered. It took 10 years in total to get the major nations of the world to sign the UN-treaty that brought into power the UFE, The treaty ensured that each nation would remain soverign within its own territorial boundaries on earth but anything outside of Earths atmosphere would be under the jurisdiction of the UFE.
In 2080 the first Trans-Newtonian material was identified as Duranium, throughout the next 20 years more TN materials would be discovered as the UFE began building up its orbital assets. By 2100 the UFE had 7 shipyards in orbit. With puntive measures in place to slow climate change the UFE turned its attention to the Solar System and beyond in an effort to secure the future of humanity. Over the next 20 years the UFE set about survaying the Mars for more Transnewtonian materials during this time a report was published detailing that the current Stocks of "TN" Materials would in some cases be used up within the decade.
In 2088 Survay teams on the moon whilst setting up a more permanent manned mission on the moon discovered traces of TN materials, two years later a manned survay mission to mars also found large quantities of TN materials. With the potential future of Earth secured, attention turned to securing these resources and exploiting them. The Moon was easy but its resources where limited and somewhat hard to reach, whilst Mars had bountyful easy to reach deposits. Over the next 10 years the infrastrcuture and capacity to transport it was built up on earth using the avaliable resources in order to set up permanent colonies on the Moon and Mars.
Life would be hard on the Moon and Mars and everyone knew it, so plans where put in place to terraform mars so that one day it may be more comfortable for future generations. With the exploration of Mars and the Moon, humankinds ambition to explore and push the boundaries in ways never thought possible was rekindled. Whilst many clamoured to make a new life in the colonies, some dared to look even further and dreamed of one day exploring alien worlds in other solar systems. On the 19th of June 2099 Dr Jason Steele made the discovery that could make that a possibility. Weak points in the fabric of space time where identified potential points in space that could allow ships with the right technology to pass through them and travel massive distances in an instant.

Yeah lol this game could end very quickly :P
Interesting jump scout & carrier idea.
Why thank you!, if i was just playing this game normally i probably wouldnt have bothered doing this and just refitted by grav survay ships, however cause im playing this is an incharacter mind set sending an expensive several thousand tonne ship into the unknown is silly and exoensive so a small 3 manned craft with a Carrier/tender is more cost effective.
Episode 2 is up, not much happened in the 2nd year of this campaign but rest assured interesting things should start to happen in the next few episodes :D

You may want to turret those lasers, they don't have nearly enough tracking speed to be of use at the current moment from my experience, because the tracking speed of the laser is not based on your fire control if I remember correctly.

Cheers ill keep that in mind :P

Episode 4 is up
I feel like im getting bogged down in some of the smaller details such as slipways and stuff like that. Should I concentrate less on those less important details and make more out of the larger details or continue on as i am?
