The Third Battle of HIP 21932
« on: February 04, 2019, 07:34:00 AM »
Here's the disastrous battle referenced here
In the middle of planetary assault, a massive alien fleet exited their jump-gate in the system. Having to buy time for the troop transports to evacuate the two divisions at one of the planets, the frigate division advance. Outclassed, outnumbered, and faced by a faster and more powerful missiles launched by new larger alien vessel, the Soviet space command's Main Combat Fleet more or less was reduced to a few training ships and minelayers.

The salvaging ship AS-03 had to play dead for a month before it could sneak back to proxima and sol.
It was interesting to watch the thermal signatures circle the system on a obvious sweeping patrol, once they decided the area was secure, they proceed to nuke the automated mining colony my ground forces captured. I suppose they rather burn everything left behind in a contested system rather than trying to make a foothold. Rather stretching the supply lines in my opinion, but unknown are the xeno's ways.
