I spotted the Eagle Scout badge about half way through a veterans array of badges.
If possible it should be awarded early on as it's associated with kids.
-
Where are these badges? I haven't seen them >:(

Right below your name/picture.
-
I didn't create the badges, just applied the mod :) I'll look at reordering them.

I guess medals don't render on the iphone browser.

Is that Captain Kangaroo?
-
who?
-
who?
The one on the left (with the walrus mustache) looks a bit like Captain Kangaroo. A children's television host from the 50's. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Kangaroo
Some of us are actually old enough to have seen it on TV. Course it was black and white and we had to adjust the rabbit ears just so...
-
Damn youngsters. :P
-
I'm older than you Erik :P
Hmm, the piccies in the Wikipedia article his uniform looks more bellhop than military
-
Not by much :P
I was referring more to his face than uniform
-
does make me think though someone needs to introduce the concept of ribbons to the Russians

Chest, Abdomen, Upper Arms, Hips...
-
I couldn't find a source for the image, but the right guy is a Russian elite perhaps a paratrooper, left obviously fought in the great patriotic war, just look at how much patriotism he has pinned to him!
-
Naval Infantry (equivalent of Marines) also wear the Telnyashka, but I believe the light blue beret means you're correct and he's airborne
-
You sure? That blue and white stripey T shirts kinda says "sailor" to me.
-
Thats the Telnyashka, worn by Russian Navy, Naval Infantry (Marines), Airborne, and Spetznaz (Special Forces)
the light blue Beret is either Spetznaz or Airborne, and on closer inspection the right hand badge does look like a Spetsnaz one.
Naval Infantry wear a black Beret, and Navy don't wear beret's but caps.
And I've just been told that normal Paratroopers have a darker blue beret so this guy is Spetznaz Paratrooper, learn something everyday
-
I just learned something too. Btw I found that image on the world of tanks forum, nobody there could identify the guy either. Maybe if it was the Russian forum somebody would know.
-
The old guy is probably telling the other one how the special forces in his day didn't need to jump out of airplanes. They hit the target by crawling through the snow! Uphill! Both ways!

Both ways? The Russian Army never retreated. They held every inch of ground.

hmm, he seems to have 3 orders of Lenin, but I don't see a hero of the soviet union, looks like an order of the Great Patriotic war in there as well, I can see a victory over the Germans medal, also looks like he has the 20, 30, 40, 50 years since victory medals, like I said the Russians need to learn the concept of ribbons, since they give medals for pretty much everything some of their older folks are in danger of collapsing under the weight!
Actually another interesting thing is they don't seem to use medal precedence since he's got some every child wins a prize sorts of medals above and to the right of some actual gallantry medals, though i suspect when you have so many it probably becomes a game of where can i fit it!
-
Neither do we. If I add a glorious mustache as profile image, I'd be half way there.
Although the medal I am most proud of is the "survived the 10 post captcha of hell" ::)
-
well since I only found out there even was a captcha on this forum yesterday, it doesn't mean much to me
-
Bullsmeg. How do you expect to conquer Communism like that?!

Mr. Mor ... Tear DOWN that wall (of medals on your chest)
-
Ahhh, so thats why the Soviet Union collapsed, spent too much on casting medals, it all makes sense!

Don't call me Mr. I am Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, your senior drill instructor. You Goddamn communist heathen! Get on keyboard and give me 10 captacha's.
It sound better if you actually familiar with refernce.

;D
I am familiar with the reference. So much so that I'll supply the part that you left out.
" I'm NOT a Mr. - I WORK for a living"
Love bit about the captchas. They are kinda the push ups of the the Internet
-
I WORK for a living
Absolutely! That is the only way to get to the ass crack of the galaxy and back.
Btw does anyone know an LP which made use of news updates for citizens of the empire(readers) e.g. like in starship troopers?
-
Galactic Civilizations III does. I watched Galactic Civilizations III - Elysian Empire a while back on You-tube and kinda intimated in there that the idea was stolen from an earlier game though.
