Issue with Maintenance Module?
« on: June 06, 2017, 08:49:55 AM »
Hey All

So I've run into an issue with maintenance modules.  I shut down my maintenance facilities at Earth, as I had more than enough maintenance modules in orbit, in order to save on population.  However, it seems like they don't seem to be working.  All of my ships in overhaul are increasing their maintenance clock, as well as everything in orbit.

I did have an issue with a lack of boronide for a bit, but that has been resolved several months ago. While my facilities come back online, I SM'ed a few at Mars, with associated minerals, and they work just fine.

Just wondering if there are any known issues with this? Is something going crazy on me?

Thanks!

Same happened to me. When I shut down the maintenance facilities that also shut down the orbital maintenance modules, which came as a surprise.

Probably a bug, or more generously an oversight in how 'turning off' maintenance was implemented.

Maintenance modules add their maintenance capacity to the population they're orbiting.
Disabling an industry completely prevents it's accompanying colony from operating it at all.
Your best bet is to move some minerals an ships to the moon, as well as tugging your modules there. Very short distance to cover.

Huh, ok, that does make some sense. I guess I can ship those facilities elsewhere to make room, or just SM them out of existence, rather than turn off the industry.
