Medals

For those of us who want to add medals but are horribly uncreative, anyone willing to share the title, description and images they use? I've tried adding a few and I feel like they are super lame.

Have you used the Ribbon Maker Program in the Utility area?

Suggestion would be to have general types/categories and then use a color scheme/theme for each:

So Discovery might be White background with Yellow Symbol(s) and Blue Stripes/Chevrons.  Destroy/Offensive Combat might be Red background with black symbols and yellow stripes/chevrons.  Suffer/Survive/Defensive might be purple background with Red symbols and white stripes/chevrons, etc.

If you are looking for some more unique names for medals and if you are absolutely uncreative, try this:
https://www. fantasynamegenerators. com/military-honor-names. php

You can make the ribbons yourself by playing around with the ribbon maker tool.

Take a look at the Ribbon Maker tool. It makes it easy (I hope) to make attractive custom ribbons. Here are some from my most recent game:

I attached a zip of some the ribbons I've created since C# was released.

It's almost midnight and can't make a tidier presentation, like Desdinova's.

Here's the awards and decorations of the Solar League (WIP):

They include one device I made (the four-point star) and a post-Ribbon Maker Photoshop spiffing in one case, to make it stand out.

Crimson Star (2 versions I'm deciding between): wounded in combat (possibly associated to ship suffering internal damage or surviving ship destruction)
Distinguished Service Star: lesser combat-related award
Marine medals (names pending): combat drops and ship capture milestones
Meritorious/Outstanding/Superior Service: time serving the Solar League
Order of Columbus: discovery of a habitable world
Order of Magellan (1st and 2nd Class): discovery of star systems
Order of Sol: highest military honor of the Solar League
Planetary Combat Service (2 levels): ground unit tonnage destruction
Solar Navy Cross: greater combat-related award
Space Combat Service (2 levels): military shipping tonnage destruction

Probably need to brainstorm a couple of scientific award lines (one for research and the other for xenoarchaeology) and a handful of civilian merit decorations.

EDIT: For inspiration you generally don't need to look further than Wikipedia. for instance the awards and decorations of the United States Armed Forces. From there, you can also browse the decorations of various countries and use multiple sources to create something original.
