Ground combat.

I have ground combat from some ruins that I am exploring.

How do I tell how many of these "robots" are left?

After some combat there will be messages, which say something like "estimated enemy losses". I don't think there is any way to tell their exact strength.

If you get a thermal sensor in orbit above them you can get a ballpark idea of how many units it is.
