Title: A light-colored theme with a vanilla Windows look 'n feel
Post by: Kyle on August 14, 2022, 09:57:32 AM
Polaris Theme is a configurable light-colored theme for Aurora.

Steps to install:

This is an open source project licensed under MIT with code available (https://github.com/quasar-kyle/PolarisTheme) on GitHub.

Huge thanks to @simast for Solaris Theme (http://aurora2.pentarch.org/index.php?topic=12568.msg151601#msg151601).  I used their project as a starting point and a learning tool.  Thanks to the authors of AuroraPatch and ThemeCreator as well.

(edit 1: updated ThemeCreator link)

Fantastic, thank you for making and sharing. Love the ability to have windows backing and map backing be different - I was trying and failing to make that myself!

Is it possible to get a pre-built version of the ThemeCreator? My VisualStudio is still the 2019 version, and I currently don't have the time to go through updates and procedure fitness exercise.

You can take the ThemeCreator folder from this theme:

Also, it's nice to see more themes being created.

Oops! I didn't realize ThemeCreator didn't come pre-built.  I have updated the link in the original post to provide a direct download for ThemeCreator.zip.

Updated to v1.1

- added: red text to the list of colors that can be configured
- changed: the default color for active time buttons to a lighter color
- fixed: yellow movement trails on the map were being changed to text color
- fixed: time buttons were reverting to the original dark blue colors while auto-turns were running

The only problem I have with this is that the boxes under the windows are always light grey and makes impossible to use any text color beside black.

I released v1.2 to address this issue

- added: setting to disable the mod's default behavior of colorless buttons
- added: setting to configure button colors separately from the main UI color

Love this!
wondering if maybe you could have

1) A checkbox to use the custom icons used in the Solaris Theme?
2) Maybe have a few more presets and/or ability to save and reset to other presets? this is maybe complicated and not really needed but would be cool to have a light/dark version for example :P

thank you for your amazing work!
