Well, season three is done as well, I hope there will be a fourth season next summer...

Leverage is one of my very favorite shows!   8)

My 14 year old son and I watched Falling Skies last season.   We both enjoyed it very much.   There are some things that I wish they were able to do differently, but the production is quite good for a cable TV budget.   I think the characters are pretty good as well.

Recording the new season's first episodes to watch with him when he gets home from camp later this week.   :)

Further research shows that Season 2 will start this summer, probably about the same time as one of my other favorite non-SF shows, Leverage (also on TNT).

They started reshowing Season 1 of Falling Skies last Sunday (12 Feb 2012), for those who missed anything or just want to rewatch...

I would assume that season 2 would start soon.

Have a bad feeling that it will be learned that the "mech's" are "piloted" by harness kids.

I agree, I was half way through the second episode when I made that link.  I hope I'm wrong as such an obvious telegraph would be disappointing.

It's been interesting.  Much better than Outcasts on BBCA.

There appears to be some symbiosis between specific "skitters" and harness kids.

The scene with the skitter dogpiling with the harnessed kids looked like a protective type gesture to me. If it was, I don't see the skitters putting the kids in the mechs (though the question of why they are 2-legged when the skitters are 6 is another question).

I get the feeling that during the operation the reason the kids started to go critical is because the skitter was dead, which does lend credence to the symbiosis theory. Also, why did Ben remember his father when Rick didn't? Does that tie back to the skitter being dead? It also seems the skitters can transfer, or hijack the control of the harnesses as evidenced by the captive skitter using Rick to talk.

I just hope this doesn't turn into another Fringe.

Unfortunately, Outcasts is a cancelled BBC show that had only eight episodes, IIRC.  I watched the first, found out there were only eight, then stopped.  Why get hooked when you know it is going to end?

I also haven't decided on Falling Skies.  Still watching, though.

You would think the mechs would be really counter-productive because you can hear that stomping from half a mile away.

I love the show.

I've seen 2 episodes so far and my jury is still out.

So what do we think of it at this point?

I'm still sort of mixed on it. More background on the aliens/invasion would be nice, but I guess the lack of info fits in with the viewpoint of the characters.

And the doctor killing the skitter by ramming a scalpel into the back of the throat. Nice.
