USSV Discovery found that the Barnards Star System has no additional jump points. Planet Barnard Star-A II and the 14th moon of Barnards Star-A IV is planned to be colonized as soon as a jump gate is constructed to link the system with Sol.

Colonization of Barnards Star system started with the planet renamed "Capricorn" and the moon "Elysium". The jump gates that linked Barnards Star to Sol System are fully operational and radio communications are initiated.
