3/5/2116 The UNE launches another destroyer class unit, which is immediately taken back into the yards for an apparent refit.
6/26/2116 The 1st Survey Group transits the first unexplored warp point in the New Hope System. They ID the new system as Gl-302, a G-7V approximately 41 light years from Earth. The system has four planets, two of which are gas giants.
7/16/2116 The UNE completes its survey of the solar system.
8/12/2116 The 1st Survey jumps through the second unexplored warp point in the New Hope System. The new system is ID?d as U-03, as it appears to be outside of the local group. It is a binary system composed of two G2-V stars. The secondary component has six planets, one of which appears to be very close to Earth-normal. The B component circles the primary at just about 600 million kilometers more than the warp point the Group entered the system through, but it is currently on the far side of the system and it will take the Group approximately thirty to forty-five days to reach. Because of the Earth-like planet, Captain Henry North of the Vanguard decides to order the group to survey the system.
5/12/2117 Europa?s Techdyne Systems Design completes R&D on the Thor Mk 2 Standard Missile Launcher, which has a 45 second reload time compared to the Mk 1?s 60 second reload time. Refits are scheduled for the Agincourt class units to take advantage of the new launcher.
5/18/2117 The Republic?s growing freighter fleet begins ferrying automated mines to New Hope A-1, moon 10. The moon has a colony cost of 2.0, and is the planned site of a colony, but for now the Republic is interested in tapping into the large amounts of duranium and other resources located here.
6/10/2117 The UNE launches a new medium sized ship. Almost immediately thereafter the new ship, along with the five suspected freighters launched in the last few years, begin making runs to the Earth?s moon and back.
7/7/2117 The RNSS Agincourt enters the Titan yards for refit to the Agincourt Mk 1B standard.
8/2/2117 A second Agincourt class goes into the yards for refit.
1/12/2118 The UNE launches a medium sized ship. Shortly after launch, three UNE ships, including the newly launched ship, leave Earth bound for the single warp point located inside Earth?s orbit. Just over a day later the ships jump out of the solar system. The UNE now has a functioning jump ship.
3/9/2118 An archeological team headed up by Commander Jade Graham boards the Vanguard bound for Epsilon Eridani A-III.
4/4/2118 The RNSS Agincourt is released from the yards and returns to the Mars Squadron. The RNSS Antienam is released from the Mars Squadron for refit at the Titan Yards.
6/5/2118 The grav survey of Epsilon Eridani is complete. The survey did not find any additional warp points, meaning that Epsilon Eridani is a dead end warp line. The 1st Survey Group returns to the solar system for refueling.

Note: The UNE navy has not been able to decide on an acceptable upgrade for the Clinton class cruisers. One suggested design was heavily up-armored to counter known Jovian weapons, however, this design was very large and difficult to construct. Currently only one Clinton, which was under construction during the war, is in service, and current plans are to wait until new engines have been developed before upgrading her.
