It seems that I have lost the ability to research the terraforming rate, it this issue known by someone else?

It is also not under the completed projects, I already have researched the terraforming module.

Yes you are right, I had 1 research lab on mars which pointed this research to. 

Thanks I totally forgot about this option.  It is a shame that you do not get a message when you have negative research labs, since I had removed them after assigning the research.
Or is there a other option to get rid of the inactive research messages?

You should get a message on the first 5 day tick after you have negative research labs, at which point it will unassign the excess lab.
