December - Dr. Hiroshi Sori receives the Nobel Prize for his discovery and work with Sorium

April - North Koreas Kim Jong-un takes power after his fathers death. In an attempt to establish is determination and authority quickly he announces another ballistics test at end of the month. Again its path takes it directly over Japan despite Japanese protests. when the missile later begins to destabilize in flight, it is quickly destroyed by Japanese air defense systems. angered Kim Jong-un orders air strikes on Japan confident Japans western allies wont come to her aid. Japanese Defense Force quickly shoots down the encroaching fighter squadrons and later in the day fires on several power facilities and what is believed to be a nuclear enrichment center for building nuclear weapons.
May - 'Second' Korean War begins. North Korea declares war on the island nation and launches its navy until it suffers heavy losses by the Japanese and is forced to recall its surviving vessels. the United States quickly backs up its Ally and launches strikes from its base in South Korea, leading to border skirmishes. Later in the month South Korea would declare its involvement in the war, joining the Americans and Japanese. Chinese troops begin massing along the Chinese/North Korean border.
June - After frantic diplomatic scrambling and meetings between America and China, China declares neutrality in the war, and affirms is soldiers are there to prevent North Korean soldiers from raiding their nearby settlements. Fears that North Korea could provoke China into war still plague the United States and plans for operation "Top Cap" begins.
2028
September - Dazmar Power and Propulsion Industries is founded. A union between Dr. Sori and his Sori Fuel Industries with two Californian entrepreneurs. this move helps Sori Fuel Industries become international, and spreads the Sorium/Ethanol fuel to the American continent, ideas for a clean nuclear power plant using Sorium is drawn up and development begins.
