Hello, is it possible to design a weapon that can fire more than once per 5 seconds? For example if I had a 10cm Laser with a Capacitor of 6, and a Powerplant that gave 6 power would the laser fire twice per 5 seconds instead of just once? (as 10cm Lasers only need 3 power to fire).
Also, not really connected but how do Laserhead missiles work? Do they have a standoff range where they fire a strength x laser (where x is the warhead size) or do they still have to reach the target to explode?
Thanks,
BlackHawk

Gauss and railguns are the only beam weapons that can fire multiple shots per interval.
Lasing warheads are broken as of the current version if I recall correctly, but their purpose is to fire from just beyond the range of final defensive PD fire I believe.

No, but when you get cap 12 you can make reduced size 10cm lasers with max firing rate. Which in turn reduced the size for laser turrets.

Broken in what way?

The damage application routine either wasn't written, or wasn't implemented. IIRC from testing a few years ago they actually work just like regular missiles.
Steve hasn't needed the functionality so it'll probably sit on the back burner for a while yet
(unless he runs into his own version of the Tholian Wedding Cake, and then we'll suddenly find a D6M in Aurora!)
