Title: Jump engines?
Post by: tobijon on June 29, 2020, 04:58:47 AM
I am trying to make a scout ship but it won't jump. Can anyone explain what is wrong with the design? Still getting used to C# aurora.

Military jump drive will only allow ships with military engines to go through a jump point, unlike in VB version.
So on this ship you either need a military engine, or a commercial jump drive.

Another question:
Does a carrier need military engines and a jump drive if it is loaded with fighters?

The hangars will make it a military ship, but it can have commercial engines and jump drive still.

The question was wheter or not having fighters in the hangar, which have military engines, will prevent a jump with a commercial jump drive.

Ah sorry, they will not prevent it. While in the hangars, they don't count as part of the fleet for jump mechanics. You can even do a squadron jump with many fighters docked, more then the jump drive's squadron jump allows.
