Naval Ships of Pyke's Republic

So this is the first game that I'm really trying to take seriously. I made a custom start with a moderately nice system with 3-5 planets that could be terraformed.  I waited for Ion before even starting to explore. There are my naval ships 25 years in (I'm about to seriously upgrade engines to MPD with much higher efficiency tech to boot).

Any comments, concerns or thoughts?

I currently have one CarrierRon and 3 DesRon, and have yet to run into any NPR or Spoilers. No plans to expand my navy without running into something, excepting maybe a couple of yet-to-be-designed fast frigate problems

My first thought would be to use the 450 tons below jump capacity on the Mythic to squeeze in some passive sensors. I notice the fleet seems to lack them entirely, do you just run hot as standard or is there another platform providing passive sensor coverage for when you want to keep things quiet?

I'd look at reducing their fuel loads.  You've got 1,700 tons of fuel on those 9,000-ton destroyers.  If you cut your range to 1/3 of what it is now, you could carry a lot more payload.  If you find yourself operating more than a jump or two from home, you can easily extend your range with fuel depots at key systems.

I actually have to update the mythic because I got some new armor that made it a lot lighter between that build and posting it, and forgot to update it like I did the others. And I dislike passives. The mythic rides along, as of now, with my carriers, which have huge 800mkm range actives that I keep hot whenever entering uncertain systems. It makes me a lot less stealthy (infinitely less...) but I've never been snuck up on. I think I might do a stealthier version of the Mythic and Scipio with big passives and stealth engines and slightly less armor to run heavy force recon in hostile systems.

The reason I went so heavy on the fuel is because I'm operating without tankers right now. I'm currently building some HUGE tankers to create fuel dumps in key systems, and am planning to reduce the fuel loads when I do my engine redesigns for MPD.
I also learned that one of my shortfalls as a commander is remembering to refuel my military units while they're on/in between maneuvers, So I decided to pad the fuel bunkers on my first designs to buffer my forgetfulness.

The Scipio cruiser is equipped with a jump drive capable of handling only a 9000 ton ship, it will not be able to jump itself or the carrier.

I have to agree with the third poster, remove a bunch of fuel storage, i usually give ALL of my military ships larger than a FAC a total of 1,000,000 litres, usually gives me about 64 days of movement at top speed with the number of engines i cram into all of my ships ( at Ion tech my escort destroyers had a max accel of 5495 Kp/s).

 Otherwise the designs seem nice, though i advise designing a class of destroyer with pure energy anti-missile armament to double as a close range combatant while still retaining anti-missile weapons capability. I used that method and it's saved my fleet a few times, usually when i go up against  Starspoilerswarm and it's served me well.
