Hangar bays
« on: January 06, 2016, 03:05:53 PM »
Will hangar bays cascade if one is hit and destroyed?
What happens if a fighter is in the bay?
Never have I lost a carrier before, now it looks that all 6 in the Terran fleet will be destroyed by a huge missile swarm.

Hangars are individual components so they will not chainreact. Fighters I believe are just ejected, but they might be destroyed. I've only lost hangars with fighters on-mission so the hangars were empty (except for some unlucky redshirts). And good luck with that missile swarm.
Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day, but set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.

In one of my previous games when I lost a mothership, all docked parasites were destroyed too.

I am almost sure the answer to your question about the survival of the fighters inside hangars is:

BOOM

At least as far as my experience is concerned. Maybe I was unlucky? Good luck in your war though :)

Launch them so the pilots can die like men. No ramming though.
" Why is this godforsaken hellhole worth dying for? "
". . .  We know nothing about them, their language, their history or what they look like.  But we can assume this.  They stand for everything we don't stand for.  Also they told me you guys look like dorks. "
