Load minerals on ship
« on: March 08, 2013, 04:36:33 PM »
Hey !!!!  :D

I'm new to the game (25hrs), and have a question about "Loading minerals" on asteroids with Colony and A.  Mines.   Here a screenshots : (sorry for my bad English, i'm French) :

img11.  hostingpics.  net/pics/158790Loadminerals.  jpg

I build a freighter, with "cargo handling sys" and few Storages.   So, i have a colony on "Pallas" since 2 years, an asteroid equiped with automated mines.   Some years after the begining of exploit it, i take my freighter, go around the asteroid and in orders, "load all minerals".     But, the game report a problem on "loading minerals and something similar to await orders" ; why ??  :-\ (i want to take Sorium).

Thanks a lot !!!!  ;)

EDIT : The plan of my ship :

Glaive class Freighter    159 550 tons     544 Crew     2774.  2 BP      TCS 3191  TH 6300  EM 0
1974 km/s     Armour 1-262     Shields 0-0     Sensors 1/1/0/0     Damage Control Rating 1     PPV 0
MSP 11    Max Repair 37.  5 MSP
Intended Deployment Time: 3 months    Spare Berths 0
Cargo 100000    Cargo Handling Multiplier 5

150 EP Commercial Ion Drive (42)    Power 150    Fuel Use 11.  93%    Signature 150    Exp 5%
Fuel Capacity 3 850 000 Litres    Range 36.  4 billion km   (213 days at full power)

This design is classed as a Commercial Vessel for maintenance purposes

The exact report is "Freighter 1 failes to load minerals Pallas any additional orders will be on hold until the problem is resolved"

Thx !  ;)

Are you REALLY sure the asteroid has mined minerals on it? Is the cargo of the freighter empty?

Load all minerals tends to fail a lot if you don't actually have all minerals on the asteroid.  Just issue load orders for the specific minerals.

Yes, empty.  Ok, i'll make a test : shut down my Mass Driver, bring a lot of A. Mines on the Asteroid, wait a lot of month and send my Freighter on it again to test.  And i'll report here.  What do you think about ?

For intra-system mineral transfers, the mass driver is often the cheapest and easiest solution however.
